"Being in desperate need of a new pair of wellies for the Winter I was pleased to be offered the opportunity to try and test a pair of Rockfish Wellies. Having had recent disappointment with my last pair of branded wellies I was keen to see what the Rockfish Wellies would be like. My expectations of a Welly was to keep my feet dry, be comfortable to wear and be hard wearing enough to do the yard jobs such as mucking out and generally dealing with the horses.
When they arrived I was instantly pleased with the fit, they fit my calf and ankle really well but I did wonder if the soles would be thick enough and have enough tread. Well I needn’t of worried after a day of wearing them in to get rid of the shiny bottom they held the ground well on the wet concrete. Additionally the good fit has meant that I haven’t lost them in the mud either. I also have ended up doing a lot off walking in them whilst long reining and have found them very comfortable and easy to forget that I am walking in wellies. I would highly recommend these wellies."

For many years wellington brands have relied on laboratory testing to authenticate the performance of their boots. However it has proven difficult to correlate laboratory results to performance in the field. Currently there is not a test standard that is recognised globally to truly measure accurately the longevity of a rubber boot, especially when the boot is worn in an equestrian environment.
Two years ago Rockfish approached Tamsyn Hutchins Eventing and organised to run a wearer trial on her professional livery at New Barn Stud in Cornwall. Several pairs of our Original Tall Gloss Boots, were placed on wearer trial in February 2013. The test boots have been worn every day since, and have been used for all duties associated with a functional livery. At the two year point, we touched base with Tamsyn who said“ our girls have previously worn footwear of big name brands, typically they have lasted less than 3 months, these Rockfish Wellies are outstanding. Worn day in, day out, for 2 years they are still as good, as the day they arrived. They look amazing, but more importantly they are reliable, comfortable and durable, that really is amazing! The heel has hardly worn down at all and the tread still provides a steadfast grip in the yard. Practical and pretty, a superb combination, well done Rockfish!!"
